FAQs
Who is Liberty Stix, LLC?
Liberty Stix is a Cleveland, Ohio based company that is leading the way in smokeless cigarette technology in the USA. Our company, unlike many of the other electronic cigarette companies, is owned and operated by Americans. Additionally, our company uses a liquid nicotine formula cartridge that is the only one in the world that is proudly MADE IN AMERICA. We don’t use any ingredients from other countries, where regulations and harmful ingredients are often overlooked.
What are Liberty Stix?
Liberty Stix is a brand of smokeless nicotine mist electronic cigarettes that are not restricted by the Clean Indoor Air Act. It has no tobacco, no carcinogens, no tar, no second hand smoke, no third hand smoke, and no odor. It also doesn’t have the thousands of additional chemicals that are in traditional cigarettes. Because there is no tobacco, there is currently no government taxes, or regulations on this product.
Are Liberty Stix Safe?
Liberty Stix cartridge ingredients are distilled water, propylene glycol, nicotine, and natural flavorings. Liberty Stix has been extensively tested and the cartridges have been toxicologically tested and none of the ingredients are considered cancer-causing agents. Additionally, Liberty Stix is currently engaged in pulmonary clinical testing, as well as testing through pediatricians that show fewer occurrences of upper respiratory infections, ear infections, and bronchitis in children of former smokers who have switched to Liberty Stix.
What does the FDA say about Liberty Stix?
Liberty Stix has yet to be approved by the FDA as a tobacco cessation product. However, we are registered with the FDA. Additionally, the FDA has issued a warning based on studies of Chinese based cartridge formulas. At Liberty Stix, quality, customer service, and innovation are our core values. We stand behind our AMERICAN made cartridge formula, made with 100% pharmaceutical grade ingredients, and agree with the FDA that some other formulas that are available in the market place do have fillers and potentially harmful ingredients. The Liberty Stix cartridge formula does not contain these ingredients.
Our current formula is made in the US and has not yet been evaluated to have these toxins, but does not contain any of the ingredients that the FDA has mentioned. None of the information on our website, implied or otherwise, has been evaluated by the FDA. Liberty Stix is an alternative to traditional tobacco cigarettes and has not yet proven to be a healthy alternative to traditional tobacco.
What is a cartridge?
The Liberty Stix cartridge looks like the filter of a traditional cigarette, yet it is much more. The cartridge contains the liquid nicotine, and flavor, that you get when you use a Liberty Stix Original Smokeless Nicotine Mist Cigarette. The cartridges come in different strengths High, Medium, Light/Low, and Zero. Additionally, there are also various flavors: Tobacco, Vanilla, Mint, Chocolate, Coffee, and Cherry.
How long does one cartridge last?
A Liberty Stix Cartridge is about the equivalent to about 15-20 traditional cigarettes, 60-80 puffs which equates to about 15-20 “fixes” (as a mix of number of puffs and amount of nicotine), depending on the user.
When do I replace my Liberty Stix Cartridge?
You should replace your cartridge when the vapor production has significantly reduced. This is usually an indication that the nicotine cartridge is running low. However, sometimes it is an indication that you need to give your battery a charge. DO NOT keep puffing on a cartridge that has little vapor production, it will cause the atomizer to fail.
I have a Liberty Stix Brand unit, but can I buy my cartridges through someone else?
No you cannot. Our atomizer although similar in look and size to our competitors, is very different. Additionally, even if black market producers try to copy cat our cartridge, they can NOT duplicate our American Made Cartridge Formula, it is the only one of its kind in the world. Furthermore, we cannot vouch for the reliability, or the ingredients and potential additives, which may be in cartridges of unknown origin. You are already making a safer choice by switching to a smokeless nicotine delivery device. Is risking your health by purchasing less expensive cartridges, that are already less expensive than traditional smoking, worth that risk?
Can I use liquid to top off, or fill, my own cartridges?
Liberty Stix is a staunch advocate against the average consumer using liquid on their own. First off, we now test returned components and are finding that MOST of the returned electronics are from users using NON Liberty Stix liquid. This liquid is known to have additives which add to carbonization on the heating coil of the atomizer, hence causing it to fail. Therefore, using liquid or other cartridges voids your warranty. Additionally, if you misdrop liquid, you can short out your battery and atomizer. Finally, topping off your cartridges is known to promote harmful bacterial growth and the effects of repeated heating and inhalation of bacteria is not known, but a basic understanding of science would suggest it can’t be healthy.
Do I need a lighter for Liberty Stix?
The device is fully electronic and does NOT require a lighter, matches or any type ignition at all.
How do I turn my Liberty Stix device on or off?
Liberty Stix does not have an on or off switch. When you inhale, the device turns on, and when you are done, simply put the device back in your pocket and it will shut off automatically.
How long will the battery last before needing a recharge?
The battery will last for approximately one day with normal use. However, if you smoke more intermittently, which is one common trait of people who switch to Liberty Stix, the battery may last several days. You may also purchase another battery, as a backup (only $20), so you can always have one battery fully charged while you charge the other. You will know your battery is low when the light on the end of your Liberty Stix Flashes Green (Green means GO charge your unit).
How long does the battery take to charge?
The battery takes less than 3 hours to charge.
Can I get nicotine poisoning if I continue to use Liberty Stix?
No, you will not get nicotine poisoning from using Liberty Stix. Our product has a built in electronic security system which shuts the unit down automatically if too many inhalations occur within a short time space, or you take a inhalation over 8 seconds long.
Where can I purchase Liberty Stix?
Liberty Stix is growing quite rapidly, and is currently available at select tobacco shops, grocery stores, pharmacies, medical supply stores, convenience stores, wine bars, bars, and nightclubs, or you can purchase online through our website, libertystix.com, or via phone at 1-877-TRY-STIX.
What is the smoke that is exhaled after taking a ‘drag’ from a Liberty Stix device?
Actually it isn’t smoke that you are exhaling. It is a harmless mist/vapor called propylene glycol. Propylene glycol is a FDA Approved ingredient that is usually a faintly sweet, odorless, and colorless clear viscous liquid. It is used in many products such as vegetable dip, ice cream, food and other consumable products. It leaves no residue in the air and will not harm anyone around you.
Do Liberty Stix have an odor?
No the mist/vapor has no odor, but may occasionally have a light essence from the nicotine cartridges. However, studies have shown this is almost never detectable unless a person is within inches of exhaled mist/vapor.
Do Liberty Stix have a taste?
The taste of Liberty Stix resembles the traditional tobacco, but feels much smoother and cleaner as there are none of the by-products associated with real tobacco. Additionally, there are several flavors to choose from such as: tobacco, vanilla, mint, chocolate, coffee, and cherry.
Where can I use Liberty Stix?
You can use them ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, since it does not release real smoke (just harmless mist/vapor). However some people who are not familiar with the Liberty Stix may ask you not to smoke, until you explain that it’s not a traditional cigarette, and it’s not real smoke. We have found that it actually is a great social setting ice breaker.
What does it mean when the indicator light flashes green?
The flashing light at the top of the device, indicates that the battery is low and needs to be recharged, or the security system has activated. The security system is a built-in safety device that shuts down the battery after an inhalation of six seconds or more to prevent over inhaling nicotine at a single time.
Can anyone use Liberty Stix?
No, Liberty Stix intended for use only by adults only and it is not intended to be used by pregnant women and those that are sensitive to nicotine. Our product is to be used by people who currently smoke traditional tobacco. It is not for people who don’t have a smoking habit. Nicotine is a harmful addictive agent.
